£75.00

Join a member of the Local Honey Man beekeeping team for an introduction to those early requirements of this ancient beautiful craft.

You might be toying with the idea of purchasing a beehive, but would like more guidance. We are ethical beekeepers and have a big passion for honeybees and the role they play in the environment.

This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

The experience will include:

  • A talk about the best equipment for both urban and rural beekeeping
  • Choose a beehive
  • Choose appropriate beekeeping gear
  • Learn how to use a smoker
  • Learn how to feed bees when needed
  • Learn how to perform a Beehive Inspection
  • A talk about the beekeeping season, what to expect, and what to be aware of
  • Tales from a beekeeper giving you the beekeeper do’s and donts

We will cover basic honeybee and beehive matters, whilst we won’t be opening bees at this session, after this event we would encourage you then to attend one of our more comprehensive days. Keeping honeybees in an urban environment will require careful and serious consideration so here at Local Honey Man we can offer you guidance throughout the year and expand your honeybee knowledge.

The event will definitely feed your curiosity and interest in bees but also in the wider natural world, and may even encourage you to take up beekeeping.
