Rhombus Bee Escape
This durable plastic rhombus bee escape will clear a super of bees within 4-8 hours. The Rhombus shape allows bees to descend rapidly whilst preventing re-entry.
Simply attach the escape to the top of your crown board and place beneath the supers ready to be cleared of bees.
Measures approximately 38cm long x 12.5cm at the widest point and 1cm deep.
Please Note: Do not leave the escape in for an extended period of time once the super is cleared the escape should be removed as soon as possible to prevent the bees finding a way to re-enter the cleared super.

How To Use

This must be one of the quickest ways to vacate bees from parts of your hive.

Simply attach it to the underside of the beehive crown board using screws or nails, and replace the crown board under the last super you plan to take honey from.  The bees will simply move around the hive and make their way downwards, but will not be able to make their back up.  Why do this?  Simply because when you remove the super full of honey to take back home for extraction it will be empty of bees!

Top Tips

Depending on your hive type you may have to undertake one or both of the following:

• If you have a crown board with two holes, you have to block one hole up before using the escape as the Rhombus bee escape wont be large enough to cover two holes
• You may need to place an empty super in the hive first to allow room for the bee escape.  Alternatively, nail on strips of wood to your crown board to provide  sufficient space for the bee escape to sit flush
