Very healthy nuc of bees, they are calm and thriving in my apiary! No complaints here.

On arrival the shop was full of bees including the cabinet at the front. Apparently bees had accidentally been released from a nuc box. However it was business as usual! Surprising as it’s next door a cafe and in a residential area. When I transferred the frames to the hive the bottom of the nuc box was full of dead bees. I was upset and disappointed as the nuc I got from another beekeeper was in lovely condition. To make matters worse one of the frames was in very poor condition with the lug broken and so short that the frame slipped and fell down. It looked old and hacked. I’ve had to buy lug repair strips and I’ll have to work out how to repair the frame. The wires were not correctly slotted through the frames but wound around the edges. Poor beekeeping practice overall.
