World Bee Day 2025: Celebrating Bees with Local Honey Man

Every year on May 20th, the world celebrates World Bee Day, an initiative established by the United Nations to raise awareness about the essential role of bees and other pollinators in keeping our ecosystems and food systems thriving.

Why Bees Matter

Bees are crucial pollinators. They help fertilise plants, which in turn grow into the fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds we rely on every day. In fact, one-third of the food we eat depends on pollination. Without bees, not only would our diets suffer, but entire ecosystems would be thrown off balance.

How Local Honey Man Supports the Cause

At Local Honey Man, bees are at the heart of everything we do. We harvest pure, raw, and unpasteurised honey from our own hives across London and the UK, supporting local pollinator populations and keeping food miles to a minimum. We are also SALSA Food Safety certified, demonstrating our commitment to responsible and transparent food production.

Unlike many supermarket brands, our honey contains no added sugar syrups or imported blends. Just honest honey, straight from the hive.

How You Can Help the Bees

  • Plant bee-friendly flowers in your garden, balcony, or windowsill.
  • Avoid chemical pesticides and opt for natural solutions.
  • Provide clean water sources for bees to safely drink from.
  • Support local beekeepers by buying raw, local honey.
  • Create nesting spaces for solitary bees using bee hotels or bare patches of soil.

Let's Keep Buzzing

World Bee Day is more than a celebration—it's a reminder that small actions make a big impact. Whether you're planting a few flowers or choosing honey from ethical sources, you're contributing to a more bee-friendly future.
